Introducing Hoppin Busan 2025

Hoppin Busan 2025 is a Busan Metropolitan city-supported, globally-minded workation program designed to welcome digital nomads, entrepreneurs, and creatives from around the world to experience South Korea through immersive two-week retreats. With programming that combines deep work, cultural exchange, professional networking, and wellness, each workation creates a strong community of global thinkers and doers.
The initiative is supported by Busan Metropolitan City, Busan Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (BCCEI), and other public and private stakeholders. Participants come from across the globe to live, work, and play together. Different theme and vibe for each session.

1. Summer Time Workation
Aug 18 – Sep 1, 2025
Beachside, Busan
Theme: Kick off the season at Korea’s top summer destination.
Vibe: Social, active, energizing
This round is all about good vibes, community energy, and active fun by the sea. Participants will live close to Busan’s top beaches and enjoy daily social and physical activities. Especially popular among returnees and first-timers alike, this workation will include a reunion for Hoppin Busan 2024 alumni — strengthening the international community and its ongoing relationships.
Highlights:
Beach games: surfing, volleyball, paddle boarding
Large welcome & farewell dinners
Casual networking events
Alumni panels and storytelling
Demographics:
Mostly solo digital nomads and creatives aged 25–38
Returnees from 2024 and Seoul-based nomads looking for a coastal getaway

Vibe: Fast-paced, professional, inspirational
This unique workation overlaps with two of Korea’s biggest innovation and cultural events: FlyAsia & BOUNCE (startup expos) and the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). Ideal for entrepreneurs, early-stage founders, filmmakers, content creators, and hybrid professionals looking to merge art with innovation.
Highlights:
Access to BIFF screenings and industry events
Startup pitch night for selected participants
Collabs between filmmakers and techies
Visits to innovation hubs in Busan

4. Korean Language Workation

Theme: Live and learn in Korean, every day
Vibe: Slow, immersive, culturally rich
For digital nomads and “slowmads” who want to dive deeper into Korean language and culture. Daily language immersion is paired with fun cultural activities, creating a lighthearted and respectful entry into Korean life. Great for long-term travelers or Korea lovers.

Daily Korean practice with locals & hosts
K-pop dance and Korean cooking workshops
Taekwondo classes
Korean-English language exchange events
Neighborhood tours and local immersion
Demographics:
Long-term nomads or Korea enthusiasts aged 25–40
